The qualities of a social worker are very complex. Here are 10 qualities a person who works in such a place must have:

1. He must be a caring individual. The qualities of a social worker must imply feelings of empathy and understanding for the clients.
2. He must be a good psychologist because he has to be able to identify the problems someone might have and find solutions for them.
3. He must know how to advocate for his client and defend his rights.
4. The qualities of a social worker must help those less fortunate to improve their situations, a task which requires compassion and patience. These are two important qualities he must have.
5. Those who have a job like this must constantly try to uphold the service users and offer them moral support.
6. Sometimes what a person needs most is just someone to listen to him. Listening is a great quality that can free up some bad energies.
7. A social worker has to be objective and offer his help to all the people in need, no matter what religion, believes or orientation they have.
8. One of the most important values a social worker has to respect is confidentiality. He must assure the clients that they have all the reasons to trust him and his services.
9. There are people who constantly need motivation and advice. That is why a social worker’s job is to teach them new things and provide them the education they need.
10. Another important skill a social worker must have is to find out his clients’ qualities and try to use them to improve the service users’ lives.

Any job requires some abilities and skills. You don’t have to worry if you don’t have all the aptitudes an employer asks for, because you can learn them in time. All you have to do is be willing to always learn new things and pay attention to all that matters.
